FREELTON LIONS CLUB
We are a group of community-minded individuals who take pride in the services we perform to make our community a better place to live and work. We have been serving our community since 1986
We meet at 7PM on the first and third Tuesday of every month, from September to June, at the Freelton Lions Villa, 390 Freelton Road, in the town of Freelton. We invite you to join us!
One of our projects was the conversion of an old school into the Freelton Lions Villa, a 29-unit, geared-to-income seniors apartment building.
Other projects were pavilions in both of the local parks, and an outdoor ice pad with an accompanying building containing a concession stand, washrooms, a change room, and a room for the storage of a zamboni, tractor, and other maintenance equipment for the care of the property. We also upgraded the park sign to have an electronic display, which can be programmed to announce upcoming community events.
Other organizations we have contributed to are:
Hamilton Health Science Services (both McMaster and Juravinski Hospitals}
Toronto Sick Children's Hospital's new Ophthalmology Department
Camp Dorset, Camp Kirk, Ronald McDonald House, Make a Wish, Diabetes Foundation, Cancer Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis, CNIB, Crohn's & Colitis
Flamborough Food Bank, Flamborough Minor Ball, Sunrise Equestrian Therapeutic Riding Centre and Drummond House.
Lions Foundation of Canada for the breeding and training of Dog Guides. They currently have 6 categories of dogs, canine vision, hearing ear, seizure response, service, autism assistance, and diabetic alert, with more needs being considered for future types of service dogs.
