Let Us Roar for a Moment!

Our various fundraising efforts are dedicated to sight and hearing; to diabetes education ( because diabetes often leads to vision loss) and to measles eradication (because measles can lead to hearing loss.)

We have two bank accounts. One is small money raised by our membership fees and from our in-club hilarity. This is used for administrative costs like postage and uniforms, etc.

The other account is for our Sight and Hearing and Charitable programs. 100% of the money raised from the public goes to these specified projects. Our books are audited yearly to make certain this is true.

**We hold two regular meetings a month, as well as a Board of Directors meeting once a month. At these meetings we hear speakers on a wide variety of topics, including diabetic eye care, White Cane Users Safety Day, The Mayhew Foundation, Bugles Across America, Fidelco Seeing Eye Dogs, etc.

**We brought in four new members last year and plan to double our membership in 2016 - 17..

**We hold Christmas and Easter pancake breakfasts at the Soda Shoppe, where kids may visit with Santa and have their free photo taken. This money goes to Sight and Hearing.

**Members bring canned or dry goods to each meeting for the Twin Rivers Food Pantry. We also provide monetary gifts at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We hold food drives during the year to help stock the pantry cupboards.

**We support the Twin Rivers Intergenerational Program (TRIP) Center Christmas Workshop with a monetary donation, as well as by participating as volunteer

**We have loose-change wishing-wells at the Soda Shoppe and Pizza Chef in Franklin.  These two wells have  brought in over $1000 for the Sight and Hearing Foundation.

**We collect used cellphones which are turned in for cash to the Sight and Hearing Foundation.

**We collect pop-tabs from aluminum cans. These are sent to the Sight and Hearing Foundation, which recycles them for cash. That money is used to pay for the transportation of burn victims to the Shriners Burn Hospital.

**We provide eyeglasses and hearing aids to people in our community who are unable to afford them.

**We hold a calendar raffle in the late winter to raise money for Sight and Hearing.

**We sell roses in March to raise money for Sight and Hearing.

**We are sponsoring the creation of a Leos Club.

**We sponsor the International Peace Poster program.

**We have a monthly UNOs "Doughraiser" day. A percentage of a patron's tab is donated to our club, as long as the patron presents a pre-printed coupon to the Tilton UNOs before they order. This program runs September to May.

**We participate in the "Reading with a Lion" program at the Franklin Parks and Recreation After School Program. We hope to broaden this program to the Boys and Girls Club After School Program, as well.

**We participate in Franklin's "First Day" and Franklin's "Community Day." We hope to branch out to community celebrations in Hill, Tilton, Northfield and Sanbornton this year.
