CAN YOU HELP?

In the last three years (2016-2018), Flint and District Lions Club have held three prostate cancer awareness clinics. 750 blood samples have been taken, leading to approximately 60 men being referred to their doctors because of high PSA readings.

Treatment within the NHS followed these referrals and we believe that our clinics have been instrumental in saving the lives of sixty men.

The cost, over those three years, has been £12000.

As plans for this walk are underway, we will have held our fourth clinic, and are expecting to take 400 samples at the cost of £6000.

The clinics are financed solely by the club’s charity account. No funding is received from the NHS.

We wish to continue with these clinics but they are a considerable draw on our limited resources. With this in mind, we are holding a sponsored walk in WEPRE PARK CONNAH’S QUAY on SUNDAY 20th OCTOBER at 2 pm.

The length of the walk is approximately 5 kilometres (3 miles).

Can you help us?

Do you know someone who might be able to help?

Please take this leaflet/sponsor form with you.

Those who can take part are asked to assemble in Wepre Park at about 1.30pm for a 2 o’clock start.

Sponsor form is here: please download a copy if you can help; thank you

With your help we can continue this life-saving work!
