It is with much sadness that we report the death of our much loved member Graham Findlay, aged 80. Graham was a charter member of Flinders District Lions Club and celebrated 50 years of community service last year. He was the husband of fellow Lion and past President, Gabby Crehan.

Graham was a gentleman farmer, quietly spoken but with the strength of two men half his age. In his usual unassuming way he and Gabby spent a week up at Corryong  working with the Corryong Lions Club and BlazeAid to repair fences before heading overseas on a recent skiing holiday in Aspen. Graham could ski with the best of them but whilst away came into contact with Covid 19.

Upon returning to Australia he and Gabby self-quarantined for a period but the virus had taken hold. Fit and strong as he was, and despite the best of care possible, he passed away following 8 days in Frankston Hospital ICU.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Gabby and Graham’s family who, in these dreadful unprecedented circumstances, have so far been unable to celebrate his life together.

Mark Holland, President
