January - King Lion Bill Moniz and Lion Diane Brodeur attended the Mid-Winter Conference held in Hyannis

February - This was a very quiet month for Lions activities.  Plans were being formed for our 75th Anniversary Celebration in November. It was fun to go back through the years to see all the Club had accomplished.

March - Our annual Pancake Breakfast, sponsored by Rockland Trust of Fairhaven, was held at St. Mary’s Church. Lion Jack Daly had some of his watercolor paintings displayed at the Millicent Library. Great job, Jack!  We got a new furry member, Leo the Lion.

April - We sponsored a Painting At Splash event that was funded in part by the Fairhaven Cultural Council. It was a fun Sunday afternoon filled with memories! Scholarship applications were made available to area schools. Lions once again participated in the Annual Bike Path Clean-up.

May -  The Lions sponsored Foxwood Resort and Casino Day Trip was even more successful than last year.  We are already looking forward to the 2020 trip!

Fairhaven Lions Scholarship winners, Brenna Becotte and Madison Roy, were announced. White Cane Safety Day was held at Benoit Square and Stop & Shop.

Many Fairhaven Lions Marched in the Memorial Day Parade and the Big Flag raising at the Fairhaven High School.

June - June began with a very successful Huttleston Marketplace booth. Once again Rockland Trust in Fairhaven allowed us to have a Fairhaven Lions Club display in the bank lobby. The Father’s Day Road race was held and the Lions assisted at the water stop at Benoit Square.  The Fairhaven Lions, once again, participated in the annual Homecoming Fair.

July - Our Fourth of July Float held historical figures in American history and some with a connection to the history of Fairhaven.  Our meeting in July was held at the Bocce Court at the Fairhaven Senior Center with picnic dinners and fun games.

August - At the National Night Out we prepared and handed out popcorn to those who came to enjoy the evening.  We also marched in the Madeira Feast Parade in New Bedford. Many Lions showed their Lion community spirit by volunteering to help the NFIA at their Music Night at Benoit Square. DG John Babb visited our club at the August meeting.  Our second Huttleston Marketplace, also took place.

September -  The Fairhaven Lions were honored to march in the Our Lady of Angels Procession. We also were at the water stop at Benoit Square for marchers. We participated in the annual Harvest Fun Day and it was fun!

October -  Our Spaghetti Dinner was held at St. Mary’s Church.  Lions volunteered at the Fairhaven Town Hall polishing railings for the upcoming Manjiro Festival.

November - With year long preparation, the Fairhaven Lions Club celebrated their 75th Anniversary of service to the Fairhaven Community.  Diane Brodeur received the Helen Keller Award and Jackie Kenworthy was honored with the Melvin Jones Fellowship.

December -  Our booth at the Town Hall Holiday Shops was visited by many return shoppers for our live centerpieces created by Lion Diane Brodeur and some Lions Elves who volunteered to help.  Our annual Community Service of distributing Sand for Seniors in conjunction with the Fairhaven Senior Center continued in 2019.

As 2019 comes to an end, King Lion Bill Moniz wishes to thank everyone who participated in our events over the year and to all Fairhaven Lions who worked to make this historical 75th year in Lionism such a success!!!

ON TO 2020
