Meetings

The Essex Lions were chartered in 1950 with a shared vision of serving our community, and for 75 years, that commitment has remained steadfast. In 2015, the Westbrook Lions merged with the Essex Lions, strengthening our ability to make an even greater impact. As the world has evolved, so too have our country, state, and town, reflecting the changes of each passing decade. Yet, our desire to serve the community has never wavered. Today’s Lions are a dynamic group of individuals from all walks of life and diverse professions, each contributing their unique strengths to the community. Together, we continue to live by the Lion’s motto: "We Serve," embodying the spirit of service and making a positive impact wherever we can. As we approach our 75th anniversary in August 2025, we celebrate the legacy of service that has defined our club and look forward to the many years of service still to come.

"We Serve."

Through continued fundraising, education, and service, we are able to support our communities. All funds raised are distributed during our Annual Night of Giving, where we celebrate and give back to those in need.

Residents of Essex, Ivoryton, Centerbrook, and Westbrook and surrounding communities are welcome to pop in a join a meeting. Our doors are always open. We meet 1st and 3rd Wednesday at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Centerbrook at 6PM.
