Christmas for Englewood Children
Successful Fund Drive

The Englewood Lions Club holds a yearly fund drive to help purchase Christmas gifts for children of Englewood Elementary School.  This year, due to the pandemic, we did not hold in-person collection sites but instead held on-line fund drives through posts on Facebook and the Club website.  As the School Christmas vacation approached, school Principal Mark Grossenbacher advised plenty of toys had already been received via other organizations, so the Englewood Lions Club donated twenty $50 gift cards for the school staff to distribute to student families.
The Lions Club wishes to thank all those who contributed to this worthy cause.  Through your generosity, Christmas was a little better for some families in need.

L-R: Lions Roger and Kathy Norrod, Principal Mark Grossenbacher, Lion Bob Baran.  The presentation of gift cards worth $1000 was made to Englewood Elementary on December 16.

The Englewood Lions Club was chartered in 1954 in Englewood Florida, alongside beautiful Lemon Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.  Our year-round members are joined during the winter season by Lions from northern states who value our warm weather and sunshine as well as our Lions hospitality.  We are always looking for additional members who would like to work on projects for the betterment of our community.

We have meetings in our clubhouse, the Eldred Dixon Hall located at 4611 Placida Road, starting with dinner at 6:00 PM.  Guests are welcome. Visit once, you are a guest; visit twice, you are a friend; visit more, we might ask you to work on one of our projects.

Our meetings are (usually) the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays, with a catered dinner at 6pm, and a club meeting following.  Please call 941-698-7508 a few days in advance to confirm the next meeting's date and time.  Visitors and Lion guests are always welcome!
