The Englewood Lions Club was chartered in 1954 in Englewood Florida, alongside beautiful Lemon Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.  Our year-round members are joined during the winter season by Lions from northern states who value our warm weather and sunshine as well as our Lions hospitality.  We are always looking for additional members who would like to work on projects for the betterment of our community.

We have meetings in our clubhouse, the Eldred Dixon Hall located at 4611 Placida Road, starting with dinner at 6:00 PM.  Guests are welcome. Visit once, you are a guest; visit twice, you are a friend; visit more, we might ask you to work on one of our projects.

Our meetings are (usually) the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays, with a catered dinner at 6pm, and a club meeting following.  Please call 941-698-7508 a few days in advance to confirm the next meeting's date and time.  Visitors and Lion guests are always welcome!

 New Member

At our March 10th meeting, the always joyful induction of a new member was held.  Lion Genevieve (Peanut) Layne, escorted by her sponsor Lion Erick Rumhold, was inducted by PCC Gary Nieskes.

L-R: President and sponsor Erick, Lion Peanut, PCC Gary, and 1st VP Lion Kathy Lawless.

 Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner

Our annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner was held on schedule on March 14, 2020.  Special precautions were taken due to the coronovirus situation, but more than 160 meals were served and the community seemed appreciative.

The serving line ready for business!
