Our First Melvin Jones Fellow

Former Lion George "Gene" Rosensteel receiving recognition as the Emmitsburg Lions' first Melvin Jones Fellow at the club's 35th Charter Night Anniversary. Gene was honored by his fellow Charter Members Lions, Mark Zurgable, Jim Hahn, John Sanders, and Dale Shields. Lion President Bill Wivell and Lion DG Susan Bonura assisted with the presentation. Gene served as the first Lion President of the current charter and was instrumental in the club's early growth and development.           (13 January 2018)

The Emmitsburg Lions Club meets at 6:30pm on the second and fourth Thursday at the Carriage House Inn, 200 South Seton Avenue in historic Emmitsburg, Maryland.

We are men and women, your neighbors and your friends from various walks of life all who share this one vision in common... We Serve!

Who do we serve? You. Our friends and neighbors of the Emmitsburg community, it's extended community, our county, it's surrounding counties, and as members of Lions Club International the global community.

The Emmitsburg Lions Club is but one of 46,000 Lions clubs.  Our international membership numbers 1.4 million members and as such we are the largest service organization in the world. In that strength of numbers we serve as a non-political and non-sectarian champion of many humanitarian endeavors.

We are best known for our sight-related programs, including Preschool Vision Screening that benefits many young families of our area. And in all this service to you, we enjoy fun and fellowship. Come join us.
