"WE SERVE"
The Ellington Centennial Lions Club was chartered in September of 2016 when a number of civic-minded Ellington residents answered a challenge to establish the first nationally recognized service organization in the town of Ellington. Our name reflects the fact that we were the first club in Connecticut to be organized as Lions Clubs International begins its 2nd century of service.
We embrace the Lions motto of "We Serve" and have made as our primary mission to make a difference by improving the quality of life in our community and the world. We invite you to join in that mission!
Our success as a club is dependent upon a diverse pool of talents and skills as well as an attitude that all of our endeavors should be fun, inspiring, and personally rewarding - not chores! We embrace the "Power of We"!
We share a strong belief that many hands make light work and invite you to join hands with ours. You will be warmed by the bonds you make, the commitments to one another, and the thanks of the people you serve, directly or indirectly - there is none greater than to give of yourself!
Our primary causes include:
- Vision and Hearing
- Diabetes
- Childhood Cancer
- Hunger and Homelessness
- Disaster Relief
- Youth
- Humanitarian Efforts
