Lions Heritage Fest 5K Run & Walk
The Elgin Lions and the Dundee Township Lions will co-host a 5K run and 1.6 mile walk again this year on Saturday, September 14 at 8 am.  The event has a website that can be viewed at http://LionsHeritageFest5K.com.  
 
Elgin Fourth of July Parade
Several Elgin Lions have committed to participating, we always have room for more.  Contact Lion Ed Bates for more information; more details coming soon.
 
Wing Park Concert Concession
The Elgin Lions have the concession for the July 9 Illinois Brass Band concert that runs from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.  Please come out and help with this event, contact Lions Mary Merrell or Lynne Dusel for more information.
 
Northern Illinois Food Bank Assistance
The Elgin Lions will be helping the Northern Illinois Food Bank in distributing food on Tuesday, July 30 at the Greater Elgin Family Center, 373 Summit Street in Elgin from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.  Please contact Lion Ed Bates if you are interested in helping.

Lions Hearing Bus

Elgin Lions Club Foundation Memorial Scholarship 
The Elgin Lions Club Foundation is now funding an annual $500 scholarship for the two public high schools, Elgin and Larkin, on a rotating basis.  The first presentation will take place on Wednesday, May 15 at Elgin High School.  See the photo of Giovanni Cisneros on the main page of this website.

Food Collection Drive 
The food collection bins have been picked up from several Elgin elementary schools until next fall, please contact Lion Ed Bates with any ideas for additional locations.  The Elgin Lions Club regularly participates in assisting the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

Lions Eyeglasses Program
We continue to assist visually challenged students in school district U46 that cannot afford needed glasses. We provide a free pair of single vision glasses to these students to help ensure that they will be successful in school. Glasses are also provided to other needy adults in the Elgin area through the Community Crisis Center.

Charity Poker Tournament
The Elgin Lions will be sponsoring more Charity Poker events this year; the next one is scheduled for June 22 at the Max in McCook, Illinois and again on July 20 at a location TBD.  There will be multiple table tournaments, cash tables, and sit n go.  This event is open to the public, but players must be at least 18 years old.  Additional information at: http://www.chicagocharitablegames.com/  or contact Lion Bill Klawitter.

Annual Rose Day Sales
Come see us again next year!  Tenatively, roses will be distributed on April 8, 9, &10, 2020.
