UPCOMING MEETINGS
March 17 - Mandy Grunklee oversees a program that our gifts and donation committee sent some financial support this past year. The name of the program is “Ambassadors for Respect Program.” They train & manage students with special needs to go into 4th grade class rooms and teach respect. Mandy will be bringing one of her students to explain how the program works & what outcomes they achieve.
The award-winning Ambassadors for Respect (A4R) Program, started in 2013, brings individuals with developmental disabilities into 4th grade classrooms to teach students to include others, to use Person First language, and to advocate for themselves and others. A collaboration with the Minnesota Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities, the purpose of the program is to develop the self-advocacy of individuals with developmental disabilities and to initiate or strengthen schools’ bullying prevention efforts.
April 7th -- Here is a speaker you do not want to miss. Our speaker will be CEO and Executive Chairman of Canterbury Park Randy Sampson. Randy will share information on the past, present and future of the park. He will bring us behind the curtain to look at the many challenges of running a successful race track. Canterbury Park was founded by Randy’s father Curtis in 1994. Known today as a premier horse racing track and events center in Minnesota.

Lions KidSight USA
Lions KidSight USA is a nation-wide program bringing Lions clubs across the country together to ensure our children receive eye screenings and follow-up care when needed. We believe very strongly from years of experience that early childhood vision screening- and correction of poor vision - is one of the most effective and cost-efficient health care interventions in the entire world. We provide vision screening to children as young as six months and through 16 years of age.
