This year our club celebrates its 25th Anniversary. To celebrate this year we have many exciting and impactful projects as we continue our humanitarian work for those in need. 

In the year 1988, Past District President- Lioness Maureen Kennard along with 27 ladies wanted to contribute to the mitigation of adversities faced by people. 

On the 2nd December, 1988, the "Lioness Club of Demerara" was chartered with twenty-seven members.

In 2004, the clubs members unanimously agreed to sign onto Lions International- Lioness Bridge Program to convert the club into a Lions Club along with the Club’s years of service.

On 24th June, 2004, the "Lions Club of Demerara Lioness" was chartered.

Twenty-five years later, 2nd December, 2013; the Lions Club of Demerara Lioness has a flourishing membership and continues to provide support to several communities across Guyana.
