GREAT EVENING OF GIVING BACK

Our "Great Evening of Giving Back" was a GREAT success! 10 deserving community groups received $5000 each to help them continue to serve the community.

BAG #1 - Aluminum Cans (ie. pop and beer)

BAG #2 - Plastic Bottles (ie. water, pop and juice – NO MILK)

BAG #3 - Gable Top and Tetra (ie. juice and sport drinks – NO MILK)

BAG #4 - Glass Bottles (ie. wine and beer)

The Cymbria Lions Club was pleased to be in attendance at the North Rustico Canada Day Parade. We have just entered into our 50th year of Community Service and plan on activities throughout the next 12 months!​

 

 


Lion Kevin Gallant presents Eva Cudmore with a $2,000 bursary cheque from the Cymbria Lions Club to further her education.


On June 9th, the Cymbria Lions Club presented The Rustico Bay Seniors Club with a plaque and $5,000 to commemorate their 50th anniversary. Pictured are Lion Allan Peters, Lion Judy Bryanton, Marina Doiron - President in training of the Seniors Club, Lion Paul Sampson, Lion Jill McDougall.

 

 


The Cymbria Lions Club presented a $5,000 cheque to the Red Isle ATV Club to help build trails in our area that could be used for rescue and disaster relief. King Lion John Axworthy presented the cheque to Chris Paynter, President of the Red Isle ATV Club. Also in the picture are Elaine Waddell, Lion Terry Doucette and Steve Robinson.

Our Lions members Gary Moon and Pierre-Yves Daoust presented our donation of $15,000 to Dr. Beth Ellen Brown, in charge of the QEH's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.


Lion John Axworthy presenting Peter MacDougall with a cheque for $500. Peter is a volunteer with Hospice PEI and will be taking part in their "Dancing with the Stars" fundraiser.



Allan Peters was the recipient of a Melvin Jones Award from our club. Melvin Jones was the founder of the Lions Club movement and this award is the highest honour a Lions member can receive in recognition

 of services given.

The Cymbria Lions Club was the receipient of the

Best District Club award for District N1 for 2021-2022


 

The Cymbria Lions Club welcomed MLA Brad Trivers to a recent meeting. Brad Trivers presented a plaque to King Lion Garry Doucette and our Chase the Ace Committee of Lion Norman Coffin and Lion Leonard Doucette, in recognition of multiple donations made to our local community with funds earned from our recent successful Chase the Ace fundraiser. Thank you Brad!

Make-A-Wish Foundation - $5,000 on behalf of the management and staff of the Oyster Bed Rite-Stop for their help selling North Shore Chase the Ace tickets 

 

 

Farmers Bank of Rustico - $2,500 towards ongoing projects

 

St. Augustine's Church - $5,000 towards parish house roof

 

Rustico Bay Seniors Club - $5,000 towards purchase of a heat pump

 

Gulf Shore School Music Program - $5,000


New Glasgow Fire Department - $25,000

 

IWK - $10,000

 

Queen Elizabeth Hospital - $40,000
