2019 Corvallis Community Christmas Parade

This year the parade will be on Friday, November 29th at 7:00 PM.  The 35th annual Christmas Parade route starts at Washington street, travelling North on Fourth Street to end at Jackson Street. A celebration of songs and lights will follow the Parade at the Benton County Courthouse.

We are pleased to announce the Grand Marshal this year is local businessman, civic activist, active Lion for 37 years, OSU and UO rugby coach for 40 years, and, most importantly, our parade Santa Clause for 32 years, Mark Webber. After 32 years, it's time for Lion Santa Mark to lead the parade rather than end it. Thank you Mark, for honoring the Parade as our Grand Marshal and for 32 Ho Ho Ho years.

In recognition of Mark Webber's 32 years as our Parade Santa, the 2019 Christmas Parade theme is "Santa Rocks Christmas". In spite of the theme, please do not include real life Santas as part of your entry. As always, we have one Santa at the end of the Parade. More than once could confuse the young-at-heart believers in the crowd.

We encourage the use of music of all types, including bands. Awards are given in the following categories:

  • Santa's Choice - Best Use of Theme
  • Mayor's Choice - Best Commercial Float
  • Judge's Choice - Best Use of Lights
  • Commissioner's Choice - Best County Entry
  • Corvallis Lions Choice - Best Nonprofit/Civic Club entry
  • Downtown Corvallis Association's Choice - Best Use of Music

There will also be awards for:

  • Best Non-Float Entry
  • Best Entry with Animals

This is a night parade so lights are an important part of entries. Light 'em up bright and colorful!

To be judged, you must be in the lineup by 5:45 PM. The parade begins at 7:00 PM. For safety reasons, please have very large entries such as trucks pulling trailers and semis in position by 5:30 PM. The line-up will be along Washington, from 4th to lIth. You will receive a letter via email the week of the parade that will include a map showing your place in the line-up.

  • NO SANTA ENTRIES - one Santa is enough and we already have one.
  • NO CANDY CAN BE THROWN! Have walkers toss it out gently. A safety issue.
  • Horse entries must have their own insurance and provide proof to the Parade Committee.

The entry fee is $25 for a business and $15 for non-profits and individuals. Please make checks payable to Corvallis Lions Club. Your entry fee is used to offset parade expenses and help improve the parade. I hope you will accept our invitation to join us on Friday, November 29th, for the 35th annual, 2019 Corvallis Community Christmas Parade!
