45 Years of Helping Communities

Together - We Can Make a Difference

For more than one hundred years and now in thousands of Lions clubs in no less than two hundred and nine countries across the world, July 1st is a significant date; the start of the new Lions club year. And at Corby Lions this year has been no exception with the club’s committee teams restructured and revitalised plus, and importantly, a change-over of President. As a consequence, the very experienced Corby Lion’s member, Navin Bhatia is the new President until June of next year.

At the change-over date, Navin said, “I firmly believe that ‘Together - We Can Make a Difference’”, explaining that as individuals we can do little but when working as a cohesive team within Lions we can achieve so much. “And it shows”, he continued when commending immediate past President Jenny Clarke for the club’s considerable success during her term. “And I know we will expand on that success over the coming months with our planned projects, new members and an enhanced social programme. However, the like-minded members of Corby Lions give what time and efforts they can and I fully understand the priorities of family and career commitments, which must always come before Lions”.

In conclusion, Navin explained, “My commitment to Corby Lions over the past twenty six years is based on the fulfilment generated by being able to help those in need across our community using just a little time plus my skills and experiences. Basically, like all members of Lions I’m giving something back and that is a a great source of pride and plaeasure"
