Welcome to Chepstow and Caldicot Lions

Our new homepage is your first stop for the very latest news, and activities going on in the club. We will be updating it more regularly than we have done before, and you'll want to come back more often as we'll be adding new things every month.

Local sponsorship deal in the works

We will shortly be able to let you know of a local club (not giving much away are we?) who have successfully applied for sponsorship through the Lions Welfare Committee, for the provision of a new strip. We're looking forward to announcing this and showing you the new strip when we have it.  Whenever there is a need there is a Lion, and that's what we're here for - the local community.

Cost of living crisis

What are the Lions doing to ease the cost of living crisis?

We have been in contact with the Foodbanks in both Chepstow and Caldicot to find out what additional challenges they are facing and how the Lions can help.

We have also contacted secondary schools in the area to see if they have breakfast clubs available to all school years. We know that primary schools are funded by the Welsh Assembly and we are anxious that pupils in secondary schools have the same access to a breakfast. Some have already responded and members of the Lions will meet them next week. There will be more on this story as it develops.

We only have one environment

We only have one planet, one chance. Last year we planted trees at Tintern Old Station, with thanks to a quantity of new lime tree whips donated by CGI IT Ltd and CarbonFootprint Ltd. It was great to pop back down there almost a year later to see how the saplings were getting on in their new home.

Message in a Bottle

Walking Football Clubs, including those in our area, are now returning to play in Chepstow and Caldicot. As they do, players have been given a Message in a Bottle donated by this club. Message in a Bottle can save a life, and is recognised by Ambulance services, first responders, and the Walking Football Association. The bottle is designed to hold key medical details and contacts in case of an emergency. More
