The Lions of Mid-Bedford Heights mourn the going home of one of our most dedicated and stalwart Lions, Josemae Boyce.

Lion Boyce began her service as a member of the Bedford Stuyvesant Lioness Club, and then the Mid-Bedford Heights Lioness Club.  She was a charter member of Mid-Bedford Heights Lions Club.

Among the many offices held by Lion Boyce were Membership Chair, Good & Welfare Chair and Vice President.  Lion Josie chaired numerous club service projects and was a strong supporter of every club fundraiser.

Lion Josie worked tirelessly on countless committees. Until recently, Lion Josie was a familiar fixture at many District, state, and international conventions and USA/Canada forums.

Lion Josie was the recipient of the Robert J. Uplinger Distinguished Service Award,  Alexander T. Wells Humanitarian Award, Lion of the Year, Melvin Jones Fellow and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

Ms Boyce also served her community,  She was a longtime faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Ms Boyce also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Bushwick Stuyvesant Heights Home Attendants, Inc. for fifteen years. Ms Boyce supported the Boys and Girls High School Survivor Program.

Join the Mid-Bedford Heights Lions Club Inc. as we send our heartfelt sympathies to her devoted son James, daughter-in-law Louise, granddaughter, Maya, brother Matthew and her many extended family members and friends.

Yours in Lionism,

Mid-Bedford Heights Lions Club, Inc.
