PDG Narcissus Frett- Moses
The Lions of Mid-Bedford Heights mourn the going home of our founder and faithful Lion, PDG Narcissus Frett - Moses.
PDG Narcissus Frett- Moses became a Lioness in 1981, when she joined the Bedford- Stuyvesant Lioness Club. She served as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and President.
In 1991, PDG Narcissus Frett- Moses formed the Mid-Bedford Heights Lions Club and served as the chartered President. PDG Narcissus served as a Zone Chair, Region Chair and the USA/Canada Forum Chairperson for District 20-K1.
In 1999 -2000 PDG Narcissus Frett- Moses served as District Governor of 20-K1 and as District Governor he Motto was "Be informed and Pass it On".
PDG Narcissus Frett – Moses had served as President of the PDG 20 – K1 Association, for two years and Vice Director and Director for MD-20.
PDG Narcissus Frett - Moses has received numerous Lions Awards for her exemplary commitment to serving others. She was a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow (Eight Diamonds) a Progressive Robert J. Uplinger and Knights of the Blind Awardee.
She was the recipient of the International President’s Award and has received 100% President’s Award.
PDG Narcissus Frett – Moses involvement is not limited to Lions activities. She was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, and serves as a Lector, Extra Ordinary Minister, Trustee, Commentor and Vice President of the St. Josephine Bakhita Guild.
PDG Narcissus served as President of Mary McLeod Bethune Day Care Center, Inc., Chairperson of Board of Directors for Bushwick Stuyvesant Heights Home Attendants, Inc. and worked with Neighbors Together Organization.
She served as President of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., Brooklyn Section and she was on the Community School Board 16; District Leader of 55th Assembly for sixteen years, and served as Trustee of St. Francis College for ten years.
PDG Narcissus was no stranger to the Lions’ motto “We Serve”. She believed that if everyone is united and working together, they can improve and build the community in which they live. Lionism and service was truly important to PDG Narcissus.
