LIONS CLUB OF AUSTINMER/THIRROUL CELEBRATES 50th ANNIVERSARY
The Club was chartered on 26th September 1959. The recognition of having five (5) of the Charter members present on this special occasion gave the event held on 12 September 2009 even greater momentum and importance.
Life Members and Charter Members Lions Ern Curtis, Barry Husbands and Reg Ryan were honoured with special presentations of the Lions International 50 years and over Charter Service Monarch Chevron Award.
The Club prides itself on having these Charter members as active members and claims this is unique for Lions Clubs who have reached their 50th Anniversary.
Lion Tony Davis and Lion Ron Buchan were presented the Melvin Jones Awards.
Lion Garry Sutton received his 25 year Service Monarch Award and a framed certificate.
