Who We Are!

The Winsted Lions Club is a community service organization, with focus on low-vision and assisting residents with acquiring hearing aids. We were chartered on March 16th, 1960, and have been serving our community for 50 years!

Who We Serve!

We serve the Winsted community, providing scholarships for Gilbert School and NWCC students pursuing higher education. We assist with other neighboring Lions Clubs, as well as organizations like The Salvation Army, The American School for the Deaf, Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, CRIS Radio, among others. We host eye screenings for the youth of Winsted Public School students. We have a Leos Club at Gilbert School, and charter Cub Scout Pack 1027.

What We Do!

We (typically) host two fundraisers a year, the first being our Halloween Dance Fundraiser, and the second being our Palm Sunday Breakfast Fundraiser. The funds generated from the aforementioned fundraisers directly go into our scholarships, along with financial contributions to other organizations. We also do eye screenings for the youth in Winsted Public Schools, along with blood drives. We also collect used eyeglasses for the less fortunate.

What You Can Do!

We are always on the lookout for new members! We can’t serve our community without people interested in serving. If you want to make a difference in our community, answer the call. Our motto is: We Serve!
