Winnipeg Ma'di Language Classes!

In line with our diversity and the Canadian multiculturalism act, the Winnipeg Ma'di Lions Club decided to organize and run this language program starting with the Ma'di language called (Ma'di ti) but to be expanded to the other South Sudanese and Africans interesting in teaching and preserving their languages: 

Purpose: Educational, Traditional, and Community Services:
1- Provides a place where immigrants can learn how to start building a relationship with each other.
2- The classes will provide both early language and basic culture educational skills for children.
3- It will also provide adult education to parents emphasizing self-help and personal development.
4- It also provides an avenue for parents and children to understand themselves given the different cultures we have in Canada.

Target Group of Ma'di and All Africans Immigrant Group in Winnipeg:
The Ma'di Language Group is currently running since November 26, 2016, as a pilot project that is intended to be replicated for other groups that would like to promote their languages.
The Ma'di language class currently has 50 immigrant students of the following ages:
1- Ages 5-7 years old, 10 kids. class start from 3 pm to 4 pm.
2- Ages 8-13 and 14-17 years old, 30 students. classes start from 3 pm to 4 pm every Saturdays.
3- 18 age above - adult class. 10 students. class start from 3 pm to 5 pm every Saturdays.
Before starting a class, assessment is being conducted to find out their current language skills and levels.
