Mission: Willow Glen Lions Club members share their creativity, commitment and compassion, for the benefit of the people of Willow Glen and the greater community.

Officially the name is San Jose Willow Glen Lions Club and we were chartered by the Lions Clubs International in August, 2009.  Willow Glen Lions Club is a 501(c)(4) membership organization.  Willow Glen Lions Charities, Inc. is a nonprofit incorporated in California and is the entity for receiving funds raised from the public and the entity for distributing funds to charitable activities and causes.  Willow Glen Lions Charities, Inc. has received a determination letter from the IRS that charitable funds contributed are exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The website of Lions Clubs International gives us basic direction (the Mission Statement and Vision Statement) and gives us the tools to develop skills, leadership, programs, community support structures that brings groups (our group) of volunteers together and enables us to give back to youth and those in need.  Byproducts can be self-satisfaction, friendships, sense of family, enjoyment & fun, travel and more.  It is personal growth and widening one’s perspective.
