WILDWOOD LIONS CLUB SUPPORTS COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS
Below is one reason we are proud to be Lions.
The following is part of a message received from Shane Hoefer, Senior Director of Major Giving - Mission Advancement of the YMCA of White Bear Lake.
“We are incredibly grateful for major donors like the Wildwood Lions Club
The Y has committed to helping people through the many challenges of the pandemic:
At White Bear Y alone, from the start of the pandemic shut down through Labor Day, we will have distributed 45,000 meals during the noon hour distribution
At White Bear, our teams gave wellness check calls to 2,000 local seniors who are connected to the Y, each one receiving 4 calls in the early months of extreme social isolation and uncertainty
We overhauled the Neighborhood Centers, Y programs working inside affordable housing communities, to provide food, household supplies, support for distance learning, and help for parents to navigate unemployment
We reopened on June 22, welcoming back about 30% of our members.
Despite the direct challenges to our own business, we’ve done everything we could to help people in meaningful, life-giving ways. None of this would be possible were it not for our donors like the Wildwood Lions. We need all of you to know how grateful we are. Thank you ….”

Welcome Back Lions
On August 24th, Forster's Dugout, our new meeting location, now allows for the Lion's to select a menu item of their choice, including prime rib melts, chopped salads and Guinness beef sandwiches to name a few. Forster's Dugout went out of their way to make sure all COVID 19 protocols were in place and created a safe and productive meeting spot for our dinner meetings.
With in-person meetings, we restated our popular cash prize drawings for attendance and progressive jackpot, join us in September to participate!
The Lions group in attendance on August 24th was treated with a "Welcome Back Wildwood Lions Club" cake that we all shared after a wonderful meal by Forster's Dugout.
CENTURY COLLEGE WORKFORCE SHOWCASE
The Wildwood Lions Club was honored to be a co-sponsor of the Century College Workforce Showcase on March 21, 2018. We offer two $1,500 Career and Technical Scholarships annually to students planning to major in occupational-technical programs at Century.
