Lions clubs exist in many communities, in many countries, and their primary purpose is to serve the communities in which they exist. Whitehorse has 4 Lions clubs. Each serves the community differently. Occasionally the four clubs collaborate on projects that are just too large and too important for one club to do on its own.
Throughout the years, the Whitehorse Grey Mountain Lions Club has been involved in many community projects, and has donated to many great causes. We'll dig up some photos from the archive and post them here for you to see.
In 2010, Whitehorse Grey Mountain Lions donated over $18,000 to various groups and individuals in the local community who were in need of financial assistance. In 2011, an even greater amount of funds were distributed to various individuals and organizations.
You will see Lions club members working hard during the annual Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous casino. The casino is a great source of fundraising that is used to help meet the ever present requests for assistance by members of our community.
