On behalf of the Women’s Center of Mid Minnesota in Brainerd, the Whitefish Area Lions Club is putting together our 5th Annual Charity Golf Scramble.  We’re playing on June 13th, 2010 at the Crosswoods Golf Course in Crosslake.  Registration begins at 12:00 and Shotgun Start is at 1:00.

In case you are not familiar with the Women’s Center of Mid Minnesota , they provide services to women and children in need of an immediate respite from an abusive situation. This program has helped thousands of women and their children find a safe, secure and loving environment during their time of need. While at the Center, women learn how to put the abuse behind them and move forward.  The center provides them, and their children; counseling, legal assistance, transportation, medical assistance, along with help obtaining employment and housing to maintain their independence and care for their families.

The Alex and Brandon Child Safety Center (which is part of the Women’s Center) was established in 2000 to provide a safe, secure environment for safe exchanges and a supervised visiting area for parents and children.  Alex and Brandon were not afforded that opportunity as their father murdered them during an unsupervised visitation.

We can’t wait to see you there to help the Women’s Center continue their important work.  Putting together a foursome, or twosome, would be a HUGE help for us and great fun for you.  It will be a great way to meet others, have fun and serve our community.

Contact me, or any of our Whitefish Lions, for more information.  You can also find information on our web site: .  We’ll see you there!
