THE WESTSHORE LIONS CLUB was started on September 16, 1996.  We are a small club and encompass the communities of Bay Village, North Olmsted and Westlake. We are a growing Club and are very enthusiastic that the Westshore Lions Club can again be one of the service leaders in our communities.

PROJECTS:

We will be hosting a Nonprofit Fair, along with the Church of the Redeemer United Church of Christ, on Saturday, September 16th 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM on the front lawn at 23500 Center Ridge Rd in Westlake. It is not always easy for people to connect with new volunteer opportunities, so we would like to create a space to make these connections. It will be a great place to showcase what nonprofit organizations do for our community. We hope to make this an annual event.

We provided financial assistance to a family to purchase special eyeglasses for their child.

We were able to provide 295 Safety Buckets for both the North Olmsted and Westlake public schools. This project began in March of 2015, but delivery slowed due to the pandemic. The last 25 were distributed to Westlake in Fall, 2021.

We have a CCTV low vision reader system to donate to Brookdale Westlake Village once the pandemic subsides.

The Club supports the Mission of the Lions, e.g. collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids. We provide assistance to financially restricted members of the Community to obtain eye glasses, eye exams, and cataract surgery through the Lions Eye Program, as well as hearing aids through the Lions Hearing Aid Bank. Used eyeglasses and hearing aid items can be dropped off at one of our following eyeglasses collection boxes located in the Westlake Porter Library, Westlake Recreation Center, Westlake Police Department, Westlake Community Services Department,  Madison Eye Care Center, Retina Associates of Cleveland, SkyVision Center, Pearle Vision (Westlake), Warby Parker (Westlake), North Olmsted Senior Center, America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses (North Olmsted), Broadview Eye Center (Berea), St. Mary's Parish (Berea), Rocky River Presbyterian Church, and the Rocky River Senior Center.
