Beep Baseball World Series is Coming Back to Iowa!
March 17, 2015
That's right! The Beep Baseball World Series is coming back to Iowa in 2016! The Iowa Lions Foundation in partnership with the Ames CVB and Iowa State University will once again be hosting this great event, July 24-30, 2016! Beep Baseball is the adaptive version of the traditional game of baseball for the blind and visually impaired. The 2016 World Series of Beep Baseball will include teams from around the United States and the World. The NBBA World Series, an annual tradition since 1976, is the most important event of the Beep Baseball season. July 2016 will be the second time the World Series has come to Iowa. The Lions of Iowa hosted the tournament for the first time in 2012. You are probably asking, "How can I help or get involved?". Here's how. This event is underwritten by corporate and individual donations. There are different levels of sponsorship ranging from $2500-$10,000. Or you can make an individual donation or Lions Club donation. There is also the "Adopt a Beep Ball" program. With a $100 donation you can purchase one of the special beep balls to be used during the tournament. And after the event you can have the option of having the ball returned to you or donated to the Iowa Reapers Beep Baseball team. We wouldn't be able to run this tournament without many volunteers. To volunteer you just fill out a volunteer application and show up and have fun! If you are interested in donating or volunteering contact our Iowa Lions State Office, 2300 S Duff Ave., Ames, IA 50010. Call us at 515-232-2215 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Keep checking back to our website for more exciting news as we get closer to July 2016!
