Donated dry rations to the people effected by the Koslanda landslides.

(540 Instant food packets & 400 water bottles through Sirsara Sahana Yathra)

A tragic landslide was reported devastating a tea plantation village affecting 330 people of 57 families in Ampitikanda tea estate in Haldumulla Divisional Secretariat Division of Badulla District last October.

The mudslide triggered by monsoon rains buried scores of workers' houses. Many children had left for school before the landslide, only to return to find their homes buried and their parents missing. Others looked on as the mud engulfed their homes with their parents still inside.

At times of such national disasters, Lions Club of Welisara as an accountable organization responded to the situation immediately by donating 540 instant

food packets & 400 water bottles worth over  25,000 rupees to Sirasa Sahana Yathra to be distributed among the displace people, with the sincere contribution of lion members their friends and families.

Furthermore President Lion Yasas Ariyaratne & Lion Sampath Muthukumarana was privileged to speak a few words to Sirasa News 1st on Lion International and similar humanitarian projects.
