Used Eyeglass Donations --- Changing Lives, One Pair at a Time

In just about any home, one can find a pair of eyeglasses that are no longer being used. That same pair of eyeglasses can change another person's life. That's why Lions Clubs International started the Lions Recycle for Sight program. Everyone can help.

Throughout the year, Lions collect used eyeglasses, sunglasses and hearing aids and deliver them to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers (LERCs). LERC volunteers clean, sort by prescription strength and package the glasses. Recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in low and middle income communities where they will have the greatest impact. Used eyeglasses are also provided to various missions throughout the world.  In fact, local Lions Club members are often involved with vision screening and eyeglass provision to men, women and children in foreign lands.

Here's how you can donate glasses and help. You can drop off your usable eyewear at Lions-sponsored collection boxes in your community. There is a collection box located outside the Piggly Wiggly store in Waupun.  Rock River Eyewear in Waupun also accepts used eyeglasses. Additionally, many area churches have collection boxes for glasses.  If your church does not, please contact a Lions Club member to see how you can obtain one.  Waupun Lion Doug Cronin can be contacted at 920-296-8566 if you have any questions. And any Waupun Lions Club member would be happy to accept used eyeglasses.  Our names are listed elsewhere on this website.

Thanks for your assistance with this most worthy project!

The Waupun Lions normally meet at 6:00 PM on the second Tuesday of the month at the Rock Golf Club in Waupun. .
