LIONS CLUB RECOGNIZES LEADERSHIP
Waunakee  Lions  recognized a handful of its members with the KNIGHT OF SIGHT Award at the April meeting. In addition, club members heard a presentation from Amy Wurf, representing the Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired.

 EYEGLASS COLLECTION GOES THE DISTANCE....

More than 1,600 pairs of eyeglasses were collected in Waunakee during the first few months of the year. If you think about your own prescription (if you wear glasses), they are to help you see more clearly from close up or from far away. Well, the average pair of glasses is about 5" long. If we put our collection end to end, they would reach about half way around the Waunakee High School track. 

 
Over 1,600 Eyeglass Pairs Collected in Waunakee
Eyeglass collection boxes are currently provided at the following spots in our community: 

Fortify Bank, Hometown Pharmacy, Lake Ridge Bank, Madison Country Day School, May Vision, New Horizons, One Community Bank, Piggly Wiggly, Waunakee Public Library, Rex's, Shopko Optical, St Johns School, SSM Dean, Starbucks, Summit Credit Union, US Bank, Waunakee Village Hall, Waunakee Sr Center, Westport Town Hall
