Serving the communities of Washington and Chocowinity

The Washington Evening Lions Club was chartered in 2009.  Our members are very different in many ways, but we share a core belief - our community is what we make it.  That is because we help where help is needed.  In short, "We Serve".

Money raised goes back into the communities we serve through:

  • Aid to Visually Impaired Persons (VIPs)
  • Sponsorship of vision screening events for early detection of vision problems
  • Partnership with other area Lions Clubs to raise awareness of the needs of persons with vision and hearing impairments
  • Volunteerism to help meet identified needs brought to our attention and within our scope of expertise for assistance

Additional goals for assistance:

  • Create and award a scholarship to help VIPs or the children of VIPs attend a secondary educational or vocational program
  • Raise enough money for one of our local VIPs to receive a leader dog
  • Work with area youth groups to identify and complete community-wide service projects

If you (or your friends or family members) would like to become involved in an upcoming project, or join our Lions Club, you can contact us in one of these three ways:
  1. Call us at (252) 946-8408
  2. Attend one of our monthly membership meetings to learn more about our group
