How often does Rossmoor Lions Club meet?

We meet twice a month on the first and third Thursdays, 11:30 am - 1:00 pm.  

What do the meetings consist of?

Our meetings are lunch meetings.  We start out with the President’s announcements, have lunch, and then either have a speaker or a general meeting. If you choose to purchase the delicious catered lunch, it is $15.00.  If you choose a reduced menu of salad with dessert, it is $5.00.  Both lunch prices include a free alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage.  

To become a member, do I need to have been a Lion at another Lions Club prior to moving to Rossmoor?

No, we welcome anyone to become a member.

What are the benefits of being a member of the Rossmoor Lions Club?

The benefits are many.  As a Rossmoor Lions Club member you become part of a large organization whose goal is to give service to the community.  Giving service is rewarding and gives fullness to life.  Through our club you will be giving service to the larger community beyond Rossmoor, but you will also be helping those in Rossmoor less fortunate than ourselves. There are also social benefits to being a part of the Rossmoor Lions Club.  Since our meetings are lunch meetings you will have time to meet new people and form lasting friendships. Our club members are warm and welcoming.  If you are new to Rossmoor, the Lions Club is an excellent, non-intimidating way to meet new people.

Can I become a club member at any time?

Yes.  If you become a member halfway through the club’s fiscal year, your membership dues are reduced by half.

Can I join with a friend or a spouse?

Yes, we welcome friends and spouses to join Lions Club together.

How much are the membership dues?

A full year membership is $100.  It can be paid at one time or in two installments. A partner or spouse membership is at a reduced rate of $78.

Why are the Lions Club membership dues higher than other Rossmoor clubs?

Our dues support the greater Lions Club within our district, the nation, and internationally. The breakdown of the dues is as follows:

  • $43 for Lions Club International
  • $18 for MD4, the Lions California division
  • $18 for 4-C3, the Lions district that Rossmoor falls under
  • $21 to Rossmoor Lions Club

Who will answer my questions after I become a member?

Any of our members will be happy to answer your questions, but after you decide to become a member you can choose a sponsor.  The sponsor will answer your questions, relay club information to you, and introduce you to other members. How many members are in the club?

We average 43 members.

Does the Rossmoor Lions Club have a Board of Directors?

Yes.  Please see the Officers section of this website to learn about our Board of Directors.

What social activities are held by the Lions Club?

Our meetings, events, and fundraisers are our social activities. Please see the Calendar section of this website to see all future events.

Does the Rossmoor Lions Club interact with other, local Lions Clubs?

Occasionally, our club participates in a fundraisers or projects with other local Lions Clubs. Members from other clubs come to Rossmoor to attend our Lions breakfast and Antique Appraisal events.
