BECOMING A MEMBER
The Walden Lions Club is always looking for civic minded citizens who want to donate their time and effort to make a difference in our community. If you are interested in learning more about our club (and Lions in general), reach out to our President Lion Don at 705-692-9468 or by e-mail at donraymond50@icloud.com.
Chartered in 1972, our club has been helping the community of Walden for over 50 years! From Lobster parties, to park building, to helping our local Food Bank, we like to get involved in it all.
The Walden Lions are strong believers in family comes first. That’s why we empower our members to volunteer when they can, realizing that not all members can volunteer for all projects. We find projects we are passionate about and make time for extras when we can.
If this sounds like you, reach out to us today. Our President will explain the process and help you get started. Once you've attended a meeting, if you're still interested you'll be assigned a sponsor (usually the person who invited you). Together with your sponsor you'll fill out the Membership Form and submit it to our club.
Our Walden Lions are passionate about helping our community, but through membership you'll also develop friendships and gain valuable leadership skills that can be used in all facets of life.
Sending a huge thank you to Delta Bingo Sudbury for their generous support throughout the year. Thanks to the Charitable Gaming funds raised, we have been able to help those in need in our community such as our local food bank, our Walden Winter Carnival, Walden Minor Soccer Association, Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer, Northeastern Ontario Canada, Maison McCulloch Hospice, the Lively Robotics program, Elgin Street Mission, CTV Lions Christmas Telethon, Canada Mental Health Association Sudbury/Manitoulin, Camp Quality and so many others!
Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
