Who are the Waipu Lions?

We have proudly served the Waipu community for more than 49 years!  Thats right - its the Waipu Lions Club 50th Anniversay in 2016

Our members are very different in many ways, but we share a core belief - our community is what we make it.  That's because we help where help is needed.  In short, We Serve!

Here are some of the things our club has done recently:

  • Civic services such as traffic marshalling for the Waipu Christmas Parade and ANZAC Day
  • Waipu Primary School Calf Club Day
  • Collection days for national charities such as:
    • the Blind
    • Alzheimers
    • Breast Cancer
    • Daffodil Day
    • Parkinsons
  • Some of the Clubs key projects include the McKenzie Coastal trail, Urititi look out trail, Waipu Recreation Park
  • We sponsor Scholarships at Bream Bay College
  • Print and dsitribute the Bream Bay Community Phone Book
  • Provide food outlets as fund raising at events such as The Races, Guy Fawkes, Highland Games and others
  • Support local families in need
  • South bound Bus shelter
