BC Wildfire BBQ Fundraiser - July 2017
With the devastation happening in BC this summer with wildfires throughout the province, as a group we decided to fundraise for monies to send to help the evacuees. Through Lions International we will be part of a large donation coming from all Lions throughout Alberta and Canada.
We set up at the Northern Store parking lot on July 20th and 21st with part of our supplies donated by the Northern Store. We also had a a donation jar for those that just wanted to help.
Lion April, Lion Lori, Evacuees From Williams Lake, Lion Joy, Lion Elizabeth, Missing are the Teens that volunteered their day to serving customers Matthew, Jami, Shay and Bryce.
July 20th turned into a very beutiful day. The weather was suppose to be rainy but we got a a warm breeze and cloud cover instead. We where set up through lunch so we got a stedy flow from 11:30 until 2:30. Than this elderly couple arrived and we found oyt they were from Willuiams Lake. The wife was originally from Wabasca and attended the Mission as a kid. They chose to come to Wabasca during this time of uncertainty as they have family here.
We would like to thank Rob Mckinly and the Wolitski's for their generous cash donations.
Skidoo Rally 2015
This year the rally was held on February 14. Happy Valentines Day! We had a good turnout of 206 riders. Instead of the main prize being a Skidoo this year we decided cash prizes would be better as so many people are in need this year.
Part of the rally is having different community groups set up tables in the hall and fundraise for themselves. This year we had plenty of groups siging up to join in. Thank you for supporting our community.

Induction Day 2015
On January 21 we were visited by our District Governor, Robert Hunter. As a part of his visit he inducted any members that had not gone through the process. We also held a potluck meal which members brought a dish of their own creation. Pictured below are Lions Kevin and Frank as our District Governor does the induction. It was a casual ceremony held in the teachers lounge at St Theresa School at our bi-monthly evening meeting.
Remembrance Day 2014
This year our community did the wreath placements indoors instead of in the cold. However at 11am our Lions President April and Lioness opted to still place our wreath next to the cenotaph outside. They followed with 2mins of silence. Pictures are courtesy of Lioness Sarah.
