Uttoxeter Lions Club was formed in 1975 and is part of Lions Clubs International. Which began in the USA in 1917. There are now 1.3 million members of Men and Women  throughout the world, in 43,000 clubs. In the UK and Ireland there are 19,000 members and 950 clubs.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
