Finger Lakes Region Lions Hearing Foundation

Established in 1985 The Finger Lakes Region Lions Hearing Foundation (FLRLHF) was incorporated by NY State the following year, as a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) Foundation and approved by Lions International to serve the hearing impaired.  The FLRLHF, Inc. was a dream of Union Springs Lion PDG Ray Wojciulewicz, who visualized Multiple District 20 under one "hearing” umbrella.  The motto of the Finger Lakes Region Lions Hearing Foundation, Inc. is:

We Serve

… The Hearing Impaired, too

We collect used hearing aids, have them refurbished and then make them available to needy hearing-impaired individuals. We operate solely on monetary donations from Lions Clubs and individuals, and the collection of used hearing aides. All officers of the FLRLHF, Inc. are volunteer Lions.

We use qualified Audiologists as Service Providers to fit the aids to our clients, who can then better hear the pleasant sounds of life.  This bounty certainly fulfills our mission.  With the help of the Western New York   Lions, Lioness and Leo Clubs, we have provided over 1,800 people with a major improvement in the way they communicate.

Short presentations are available to clubs within Lions Districts 20-N, 20-E1, 20-E2, 20-Y1.  To make arrangements for a visit by a FLRLHF Inc.representative, call the Foundation Corporate Office (see Contact Information below).

Principal Operations Officers

Executive Director/Treasurer and Secretary:  Executive Director/Treasurer Lion Warren Albrecht and Secretary Lion Tim Dodman, both of the founding club, are located in Union Springs and Albany, respectively, and handle the financial and administrative functions of the Foundation.

FLRLHF, Inc. Charter member, Executive Director Emeritus, Lion Art Elliott, was instrumental in establishing the Foundation as the "place to go" for hearing assistance in the 4 Western New York Lions Districts.  He worked closely with Founder PDG Ray Wojciulewicz of Union Springs in getting the Foundation started and has continued to dedicate his time, energy, and leadership to seeing that the Foundation functions smoothly.

Application Processing:  Director Lion Donna Peck takes care of the heavy and complicated management of processing applications and coordinating clients and service providers.  This complex job is the core of the Foundation’s activity.  Donna assists those hearing impaired to get the help they need through the Finger Lakes Region Lions Hearing Foundation, Inc.

Foundation Audiologist:  Lion Joe Kozelsky, M.S., CCC/A used much of his spare time away from his business at Webster Hearing, keeps the hearing aid inventory up-to-date and provides professional advice to the Foundation Executive Director and the Board of Directors about current technology.
