The Tumwater Lions Club provides a wide array of community services to the Tumwater community

LOCAL COMMUNITY SERVICES

Education, Tumwater School Districts

  • Educational scholarships to graduating seniors at Tumwater and Black Hills High Schools.
  • Community service opportunities for high school students to fulfill graduation requirements.
  • Various youth enrichment programs.
  • School sight and hearing screening through the Lions Health Screening Unit.

Sight

  • Free eyeglasses to qualified persons through Olympia Union Gospel Mission.
  • Collection of used eyeglasses for recycling at the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center(LERC).
  • Public group sight screening through the Lions Health Screening Unit.
  • Cataract surgery when qualified.

Hearing

  • Free hearing aids to qualified persons through the Northwest Lions Foundation.
  • Public group screening through the Lions Health Screening Unit.

Diabetes

  • Financial support for Camp Leo, a summer camp for children with diabetes.
  • One yearly scholarship for a Camp Leo attendee.

Community Assistance

  • Emergency financial aid for victims of house fires through the Tumwater Fire Department.
  • Donations for local natural disaster needs.
  • All Kids Win support for this local area program that provides weekend food to homeless and in need school students in Thurston Co.
