TOWN OF HOOSICK LIONS CLUB HISTORY

The Town of Hoosick Lions Club was formed and chartered on October 20, 1960 with 26 members.  The Cambridge Lions Club was our sponsor.  A photograph of the charter members can be seen in our Photo Gallery Section.  

Yearly club membership has averaged between 25 and 30 members.The club has met in several meeting places over the years.  The following list may bring back some memories to many of the members:

     1960 - Byars House, North Hoosick - 1st meeting with Kiwanis

     1963 - Walloomsac Hotel

     1965 - Porter House Restaurant (summer),Frank's Tavern (winter)

     1969 - Captain's Cabin, Eagle Bridge

     1974 - Delaneys

     1980 - Village Landing

     1983 - Dougherty's Hotel

     1985 - Falls Diner (present)
