Come visit us for our annual Casino Party in May and our Night at the Races in October

Funds raised are used to purchase eyeglasses for needy children in the community, to purchase food and toys for the Christmas Food and Toy Drive, to host the annual Kids’ Fishing Tournament, and to maintain Lions Club Park.

Lions charities supported by The Colony Lions Club include:

The Texas Lions Camp is a residential camping facility for children with physical disabilities, type 1 diabetes and cancer. The Camp is located on over 500 acres in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, and is designed to introduce the "Can Do" philosophy to children dealing with special medical conditions.

The Texas Lions Foundation and Lions Clubs International Foundation provide grants for humanitarian purposes and disaster relief.  Our Lions District received nearly $20,000 in emergency grant money from these two foundations during the spring 2007 flooding.

Founded in 1939 by members of the Uptown Detroit Lions Club members, Leader Dogs for the Blind has successfully matched and graduated over 13,000 person / dog teams since its inception.  The dream of these Lions became vision and independence for thousands.

Lions World Services for the Blind was founded in 1947 to serve people who are blind and visually impaired who needed to learn independent living skills or job training skills that considered the special requirements of their individual visual impairments.  The goal of the rehabilitation center then, and today, is to prepare the individual who is blind or visually impaired to function independently in our “sighted” society.

The District 2-E2 Lions Organ and Eye Bank (LOEB) maintains an ongoing relationship with UT Southwestern Transplant Services for the advancement of soft tissue transplants.

These services and more are available to anyone who lives in The Colony at no cost by contacting a member of The Colony Lions Club.

If you would like to find out more about the services provided by Lions, contact any member of The Colony Lions Club.  For information about the eyeglass program, contact your school nurse.  For information about the Texas Lions Camp, contact a Lions Club member; applications for summer sessions are available in January at www.lionscamp.com.
