Speaker Betsy Gray-Manning, SCYAP
Betsy Gray-Manning has worked in the Human Services field for over 19 years. She is a graduate of Charleston Southern University where she received her Bachelors degree in Psychology and Webster University with a MA in Counseling. In her current position as a Therapeutic Foster Family Recruiter with the South Carolina youth Advocate Program, Betsy is afforded the opportunity to advocate for children and families on a daily basis. She has worked with foster families for over 11 years in different capacities. She is a former Public Safety Officer for the City of Spartanburg, a former Family and Community Partnership Division Manager for Piedmont Community Action-Head Start and a graduate of the Spartanburg County Foundation Grassroots Leadership Institute. Betsy quotes, “My roots are in Spartanburg, but wherever there is a need for children to be safe, and families to step up to the plate to help, I can safely say I am a art of that community as well. My favorite quote is, “You must get involved to have an impact.” John Holcomb once said, “No one is impressed with the won/lost record of the referee.”
