Meetings

2016-2017 Awards presented at our annual President's BBQ held August 20, 2017:

Ivan Branson - Long term member, Executive Director and dedicated club volunteer; Vern Biberdorf - Past Executive Director, great helper and Coffee Maker; Larrie Grant - Our Canada Day liaison- event helper and consummate cashier at club fund raising events; Lorne Grigg - On loan to Multiple District 19-Zone 8 as Zone Chairman - logged almost 10 thousand kilometers visiting regional HQ and visitations to Zone 8 clubs.  When back home he is a great helper at club events and meetings; Bob Kreiger - Our Camp Winfield liaison, willing club helper and membership chair; Jim Mead - Since  joining our club Jim has proven to be  dedicated volunteer worker and cook, he was recently elected to be 1st Vice President for the  2017-2018 term; Sharon Paulus - A dedicated member and volunteer especially at our Annual Garage Sale; Don Pryor - A former cook with the Royal Canadian Navy, is a dedicated volunteer helper and cook plus a liaison  member to the Sorrento Manor and was recently elected to be 3rd  Vice President for the 2017-2018 term; John Wolfe - Hard working member and our club go to mechanical genius; Patrick Wright - A military veteran and dedicated Lion has earned the respect of our club as a hardworking volunteer and cook and was recently elected to be 2nd Vice President for the 2017-2018 term; Hans Schmidt - The always grinning, TALL Lion and former Vice President now President for the 2017-2018 term, Hans is a hard working club volunteer and cook/server; Brian Butcher – Past President with a keen eye for photography; John Howat – Treasurer; Judi Kembel – Secretary and last but not least, Wayne Kembel – long serving Director, club bartender and general club handyman who is also responsible for the establishment of our annual club calendar and weekly meat and 50/50 draw fundraising events.

Also awarded to Lion President Hans Schmidt were the Membership Achievement Award for outstanding results – five new members were installed under his sponsorship and the prestigious Sorrento Lions Club “Lion of the Year” award recognizing his hard work and dedication to our Club.
