Duck Day at the Flats

11th Annual Duck Race was a great success!

The sun shone brightly at the Flats on Saturday, May 6, 2017 for the annual Harbourside Lions Duck Race. About 2,500 ducks were released, and the wind worked against them. The winner crossed the finish line in one hour and 12 minutes.

Duck winners were:

  1. Place:  Andrea Millen
  2. Place:  Katie Brooks
  3. Place:  Trudy Pearson
  4. Place:  Chelsea Dunbar
  5. Place:  Ron Nobel

Mother Nature wasn’t that cooperative, with the wind blowing in the wrong direction, but the day was sunny and dry so if we had to watch the ducks swim harder at least we were warm and dry. The day was chalked up as a great success.

The 11th annual duck race was the best attended yet. Over 400 children attended the games and activities, plus parents and grandparents and campers at the Flats. We are very thankful for the support of our community.
