In Memory of:
It saddens us greatly to share news of the passing of a very admirable Lion. Lion Audrey Wilson, wife of PDG John Wilson, passed away December 16, 2013 at the age of 84. The Wilson's would have been married 65 years December 18th, 2013. Thoughtful, fun, active, caring, often 'mother hen' to her fellow 19 I Sooke Harbourside Lions, Audrey was an outstanding community servant and a great friend to so many of us. Audrey served as a Lioness and a Lion in Sooke. She and John lived in Sooke their entire lives, where Audrey had served as a kindergarten teacher to many in the community. She and John raised 6 children. Please, keep PDG John, Audrey's sister Lion Lynda Fisk, the entire extended Wilson family, and the entire Lions Family in Sooke BC, in your warmest thoughts and prayers during this time of great loss. It is never easy to lose a loved and highly respected member of a family and community, but even more challenging during this very special time of year. Please, pray that all may find peace in their hearts, and be of good cheer...especially, because Lion Audrey would have wanted it so.
We would like to acknowledge a very special lady from our club who passed away on Wednesday, February 29th, 2012. Barb White was a long time member of our club, having joined in 2001. She was well known throughout Sooke as the "hot dog lady". You could see her at the helm of our bar-b-que grill most Saturday afternoons. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends as well as all "her sisters" in our club. Rest in peace Barb! We love you.
and Lynn Zigay
Another hard worker and well loved member
and Sue Hardy
Even though Sue was only with our club for a short while, we all miss this vibrant, and exciting lady. She contributed tremendously to our club and to her community.
