LIONS CLUB OF SONEPAT – DISTT – 321-A2

  1. The Club was Inaugurated by Late Lion VISPY MINOO Engineer, South Asian Secretary on 4th September, 1973 with 31st members.
  2. Charter was presented to the Club on 7th January, 1974 by then District Governor Lion T.R. Chadha.
  3. The First Free Eye Operation Camp (an annual feature) was organized on 26th Sep. 1973.
  4. Club was declared the Best Club in Multiple in 1995-96 and again in 2003-2004.
  5. The Club set World Record in Extension in 1975-76 by Organizing 16 New Clubs. (Total Number of new clubs organized so far by SONEPAT is 33).
  6. The Construction of Lion Community Center was started in 1982-83.
  7. The construction of main hall was completed in 1987-88.
  8. The sound proofing and false ceiling was done 1992-93 during the President ship of Lion Anil Seth.
  9. Submersible Pump installed in 1993-94.
  10. A set of 4 Toilets was constructed in 1996-1997 by then Club President Lion Kishore Chhabra.
  11. The Club was declared Model Club of District 321 –A2 in 1994.
  12. Lion Rajeshwar Kapur is the Fisrt Recipent of Governor ship to our District During the year 1997-98. He was also honored as MJF during his tenure.
  13. Lion Anil Seth is the second recipient of Governor ship to our District 321-A2 in the Year 2003-04. He was also honored as MJF during his tenure.
  14. The following were honoured MJF during Governor ship tenure of Lion Anil Seth in 2003-04:

  1. Adoption of lepers Colony in which Club constructed 26 rooms. Major contribution in this permanent project was done By LION D.K. Jain.
  2. Nine Lion Members of our Club became Founder Members of District Lions Blood Bank By paying RS. 51,000/- each.
  3. Installation of Lion Mukesh Goel was done in KATHMANDU, Nepal, during 2005-06. This was the first club of district who has done installation out of India.
  4. Installation of Lion S.P. Sharma was done in PATAYA, BANKOK in 2009-10.
  5. 15 Members of the Our Club become Founder Member of the District EYE HOPITAL and Resurch Center, PANIPAT.
