HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
from the Shelton Centennial Lions Club
It's been a busy time recently with Christmas and New Years activities, but we're ready now to focus on 2026:
- Our first meeting of 2026 will be on January 19 at 12:00 and will be held at the downtown Fire Station at 122 Franklin Street. The February 16 meeting will also be held there because both dates fall on holidays and the Senior Center will be closed.
- At the next meeting, two new members Ann Marie Genovese and Randy Neatherlin will be inducted into the club by James Reddick our Zone 2 Chair. Please come and give them a warm reception. We will then have 24 members.
- Our Apple sale last year netted a nice profit to invest in our community.
- We have adopted the Northcliff Neighborhood Park at 1514 Northcliff Rd and will be doing clean up as needed. A sign that says we have adopted it will be posted. It's a small park and in a fairly nice area, so probably doesn't need a formal clean up now. Kathy is asking us to visit the park and take a bag in case we see any trash
- Progress has been made to authorize an Adopt a Road clean-up, more to come as the county helps us get set up for it.
- Our Christmas party was a great success.Thank you Eric Onisko for working hard to prepare all the good food and sharing your house with us. Also thank you all who attended and brought food. Also, thanks to Bill Scholl for preparing and administering a Christmas movie trivia contest . Finally thank you to everyone who brought Teddy Bears that were donated to the fire Department for their toy drive.
