Meetings

FUND RAISING

The Fund Raising sub-committee meets once per month to discuss and to organise the various events we run throughout the year. The two main events, the Beer Festival in early July and the Heavy Horse Show in September, are described in more detail in the 'Upcoming Events' and 'Calendar pages'.

The following are some of our other regular projects:

Christmas Collection

We are very grateful that Sainsbury’s, Tesco and M&S allow us (and other charities) to use their premises for collections at Christmas. We thank them and all their patrons who donate so willingly. This is a significant source of income for our various projects.

Golf Day

We have been organising a Golf day in late Spring for the past few years, at Darenth Valley and more recently at Nizels. We aim for approximately 50 players for a bacon butty, 18 holes and an early dinner with prize giving. It is always a day enjoyed by all, and to be repeated in 2018, should you be interested (good weather guaranteed!). Helped by a donation from our sponsor, St James Place Wealth Management, this annual competition provides a fun means of enhancing our revenue.

Calendar

We created our first calendar for 2017, with Sevenoaks sights captured by the Sevenoaks Camera Club and the months sponsored by local businesses. The 2018 calendar is now available, at £5.00 each, a good stocking present/loo wall filler/reminder of how special this area is. Do contact us should you want any.

Fetes

We participate in the annual Otford Fete on the end May Monday Bank Holiday and have organised the Chevening Summer Fete three times, so far!

Sevenoaks Fireworks Night

Our friends at Round Table have been organising the very successful street parade and Fireworks Display at Sevenoaks School for years, and we help by providing the catering (ably helped by the Scouts).

Otherwise we help other community and fund raising activities where we can, including helping at the Kent Show and the Wrotham Steam Rally, tin-rattling for Mencap and for Marie Curie and the list goes on!

And we are always looking for new ideas, and more helpers.... if you are even vaguely interested, do get in touch to find out more.
