Come along and find out what being a Lion and helping the Community is all about

Message from the President

"Welcome to the web-site of the Sevenoaks Lions Club. I hope it will tell you something of the aims and activities of the club.

We currently have over 30 members, who give up some of their time to help our local community by raising money for good causes and those in need and by carrying out various community projects. While doing so, I must add, we also manage to have a bit of fun and enjoy ourselves.

I hope you have been able to attend one of our fundraising events so far this year such as the Beer on the Vine (our popular summer beer and cider festival), the Fête at Chevening House and The Heavy Horse and Rural Crafts Show in Shoreham.

On this website you can also find information on Lions Clubs International, our parent organisation with over 1.4 million members in some 30,000 clubs worldwide.

If what you read here makes you interested in perhaps joining us, we'd be delighted to tell you more (see our 'Contact Us' page).

For whatever reason you found our site, I hope it was helpful and answered your questions. Thanks for your visit."

Barry Wheeler
President 2016 - 2017, Sevenoaks Lions Club

Lions International

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organisation. It is also respected as one of the most effective. Behind the camaraderie, fun, fund-raising and community service projects of Lions clubs, lies a well-organised structure and established policies and practices.

Each Lions club is founded by a charter and has a constitution and by-laws. It is managed by a team of elected officers, and led by a Club President. Lions Clubs International British Isles & Ireland is known as MD105 – its status as a multiple-district. There are 13 districts in MD105, each of which has an elected District Governor.

Lions Clubs International is a secular, non-political, volunteer membership organisation. All of its administrative costs – at local, national and international level – are covered by modest annual membership fees. This means monies raised by fund-raising are spent supporting good causes.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
