Our club is located in Rutherfordton, NC, which is in the foothills of Western North Carolina.  We serve the Spindale and Rutherfordton area.  Our club was formed on October 14, 1954 with 25 charter members.  We currently have 21 members.

We are part of Zone 8 in District 31L, the Western District of NC.  Other clubs in our zone are Chase, Columbus, Kings Mountain, Lake Lure, and Shelby.

Our regular club meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at the Rutherfordton Hospital.  We meet in a room near the cafteria, which is located on the right as you come in the front entrance of the hospital. The meetings include a meal, a business meeting, and usually a guest speaker from a local business, charity, educational organization, or government agency.

Membership is open to anyone who is at least 18 years old, of good moral character, and committed to the work, ideals, and Code of Ethics of the Lions.  Each member must be sponsored by an active member and approved by the Board of Directors.  Following the application and approval process, a condidate is asked to join the organization.

The dues for the Rutherfordton Lions Club are $70 per quarter, which cover the cost of administrative expenses such as the cost of meals at the meetings and district, state, and international dues.  There is a small additional fee for the Club Christmas Party for members and their guests who attend.

Please contact our Membership Chairman if you are interested in joining our club. Contact the secretary for all other matters.  Contact information for our officers may be found under the "Officers" tab on the left of this page.
