Pictured above is Doug McCullough, the President of the 2016-2017 Rushville Union Lions.  The Lion Year goes from July 1 to June 30.   It has been a good year with the annual Chicken Barbeque and 65th Charter NIght completed successfully.  We have a very busy August with our 8th Annual Verne Ardrey Golf Outing and Young Farmer's Truck and Tractor Pull on the horizon.  Early September will see us working our booth at the Millersport Sweet Corn Festival.

On May 26, 2016, we celebrated the 65th anniversary of the acceptance of our charter by the Lions Club International.  Past International Director Jerry Smith, an Ohio native, was our principle speaker.  PID Jerry helped induct Lion Bob Pontious as our 12th living Melvin Jones Fellow, the most prestigious honor given at the club level.  Council Chair Don Robinette helped present Lion David Ruff the 2015-16 "Lion of the Year" award. Pictures of these activities can be seen in the Photo Gallery section of the website.  Lion Kevin Wilson was honored as "Rookie of the Year." On July 14, 2016, Nicole Osborne, Lisa Fulk, and Taylor Pezo were voted in as the first women members of the Rushville Union Lions.  Congratulations, ladies!

At the International Convention in Chicago in late June of 2017, we will all celebrate 100 years of Lionism.  The second weekend of May, 2017, we will gather in Sandusky, Ohio, for the State Convention.   It's a great time to be a Lion.  We are doing a lot of good things in our local communities, states, nations and the world.  We are approaching 200 million dollars in disaster relief since the founding of the LCIF and nearly one billion dollars in eye sight initiatives like the Sight First Program.  We donate over 20,000 used eye glasses annually in our Ohio district, one of 7 in our state.  We are working daily across the state and nation to live up to the Lions' motto: We Serve.  If you would like to join our mission, call one of the numbers on the Contact Us page.  We would love to have you come and see us in action.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
