Newsflash...(of sorts)

Thanks to the generosity of the people of Rugeley, the Lions' Toy Collection achieves a new record of more than 1000 toys!!!

The toys were collected into toy boxes, supplied by Lions, and located at Tesco, Gymophobics and St Joseph's Community centre.

This year Morrisons set up their own toybox and gave some of their collection to the Rugeley & District Lions Club collection.

The Toys were donated to Social Services and to the Victory Church for their 'Week of Wonder'. Jane Smith, from the Victory Church, wanted to create a Week of Wonder in Rugeley, similar to an event which had taken place in Canada.

Jane approached Lion President Debra about this event but did not think that she had enough toys - Lions quickly agreed to donate toys to this event - problem solved.

Genuine Rugeley referrals were made to the Victory Church and as a result 300 Rugeley families received Toys.

Rugeley Lions were invited to the photoshoot of the event by the Express and Star and appeared on the front page on Thursday 20th December alongside members of the Victory Church.

We attach some photographs below:
